Scarlet Ibis @ 8:55pm
Scarlet Ibis was formed in the spring of 2009. The name is based on the national bird of Trinidad and Tobago as 4 members are descendants of T & T immigrants. The band players are a blend of the Soca band ‘Hot Sands’, a local Caribbean band from Edmonton, and two members of local rock bands. Although the sound is very similar to Hot Sands’ music, Scarlet Ibis brings a fresh, live sound with some electronic music accompaniment which was very prominent in Hot Sands’ sound.
Scarlet Ibis is comprised of a lead guitarist, bass guitarist, drummer, percussionist, and 3 vocalists. Music accompaniment is arranged by Crazy C.
The current lineup consists of Lead Vocalist and Band Leader - Carlos Sheridan, Rhythm Guitarist - Joel Mohammed, Lead Vocalist - Dylan Mohammed, Back-up Vocalist - Chantelle Sheridan, Bassist - Michael Twittey, Drummer - Brad Runge, and Percussionist - Donovan Rambaran.
The Band’s members are all accomplished musicians who have all had at least 15-20 years each of music experience between them.
Scarlet’s music can be described as fun, energetic Soca and Reggae music that stays true to its origins with a blend of pop and mainstream tunes as the band also plays 80s, rock, oldies, and Top 40 hits as well. They play a variety of venues such as charity events, weddings, parties and dances although they are versatile to accommodate smaller shows and adjust accordingly as needed.

We have played for special events and venues such as the United Way, Discover Edmonton, FC Edmonton Soccer games, The New Year’s Eve Beach Party at the World Waterpark, The Cariwest Festival and Battle of the Insurance Bands charity event.

We love taking special requests so if there is a special island tune you think we may know, don't hesitate to approach us and we'll be happy to try and accommodate you!
