Our mission is to celebrate both our rich Canadian history and the diversity of the community with a FREE and inclusive event featuring multicultural performances, dance, music, fun and fireworks that is open to everyone.

MWPC CANADA DAY 2023

The Mill Woods Presidents' Council has delivered the Mill Woods Canada Day Celebration with the support of sponsors and donors since 1990. Financial support ensures the event continues year after year providing free entertainment to 50,000+ people.

This Canada Day we will be collecting non-perishable food donations to help feed people in our community through SSVP ST THERESA’S FOOD BANK.

Mill Woods Canada Day Celebration takes place in the Mill Woods Park west of Mill Woods Town Centre. 
There is no parking on site and there are the road closures to be aware of as indicated below.

 7:30pm - 12:00am             66street CLOSED from 23rd Avenue to 28th Avenue
10:45pm - 12:00am           Additional closures around the park include 28th Avenue.
10:45pm - 12:00am           Millwoods Road at 23rd Avenue
10:45pm - 12:00am.          66th Street at 34th Avenue closed to south bound traffic
10:45pm - 12:00am.          28th Avenue at 50th Street closed to west bound traffic
10:45pm - 12:00am.          23rd Avenue at 50th Street closed to west bound traffic.

VOLUNTEER FOR CANADA DAY

This event is organized by a dedicated group of volunteers but we need community members to be on site July 1st for the following duties:

  • Children's Fun Zone (assisting with games & activities)

    • 1:00 - 4:30 & 4:00 - 7:30​

  • Information Tent (giving directions and details of the day)

    • 1:00 - 4:30, 4:00 - 7:30 & 7:30 - 11:00

  • Site Set Up 

    • 11:00am - 2:00pm

  • Garbage Collection
    • 2:00pm - 5:00pm, 5:30pm - 8:30pm, 9:00pm - 12:00pm​

All volunteer's are required to attend a short orientation on June 30th.

T-shirt, volunteer certificate, refreshements & snack provided!
