Canada Day Volunteers

The Mill Woods Canada Day Celebration is western Canada's largest volunteer delivered Canada Day event, taking more than 200 volunteers to deliver. Without volunteers, this event would not exist.  There are volunteer opportunities before, during and after the event.  For more information or questions e-mail


General labourers are needed  to set up/tear down tents, tables & chairs, pick up garbage and additional on site duties. Shifts are 3.5 hours and up to 4 shifts are available the day of the event.


Volunteers are needed to supervise  the children's activities, interact in games and face paint.  Shifts are 3.5 hours  starting at 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm and up to 2 shifts available.

Sponsors are as crucial as volunteers to delivering the event. Engaging local businesses and making them aware of sponsorship opportunities is key to funding the event.

Now accepting applications from non-profit groups to  earn a $1000 donation by completing the late night clean up of Mill Woods Park after the fireworks.  Clean up starts after the fireworks and can go till as late as 2:30 pm depending on the amount of volunteers. Another small crew is required to do a walk through on July 2nd before 10:00am to ensure the site is clean.
